Poem: “Unborn Me”

Unborn Me

Here I am in my mothers’ womb,
Safe and warm and comfortable.
Life has just begun for me,
Here in my mothers’ womb.

To be loved and have life
Is a wondrous feeling.
Being loved and alive
Is my joy this day.

In here I wait for my bright tomorrow.
In here I wait for the fulfillment of love.

Wonderful and serene are my days
With each new one bringing,
Another growth in me.
I watch myself in awe and elation.
I am pleased to be me.

Here I am in my mothers’ womb,
Fulfilling Gods’ own promise.
Here I am in my mothers’ womb,
Waiting for my day.

I do not know precisely when,
But I know I grow and grow.
Things appear that were not there,
A little of this and a little of that.
Who am I? I do not know,
But I know that I am.

I am I am, I truly am
For I have begun.

With a heart that beats and
Blood that flows,
With nourishment from a tube.
I am, I am, I truly am.
I am what God meant me to be.

A creature of His I am, I am,
With body and soul like all others.
I am, I am, I truly am,
Who God wants me to be.

With outstretched arms,
I am embraced by Him.
Just like so many others.
Held in pure joy by God, is me
Just like so many others.

I am, I am, and I am meant to be.
With a name, a face and features
I am, I am I truly am.
Because God placed life in me.

Remember Mom do me no harm.
It was God not you, who gave life to me.
I am, I am, I truly am.
Because God has made me.
