Poem: “Quiet Must be in Me”

Quiet Must be in Me

If I am to touch Him,
I must be at peace.
If I am to love Him,
Quiet must be in me.

For turbulence does not invite the Lord,
Nor does anger or hate.
Peace is the gateway to Christ.
Love is the avenue to the Most High Holy One.

Surrender your vengeance to Him.
Give all your difficulties to Him.
Find a quiet place, and lay
Your problems at His feet.

Seek His peace,
And soak in the quiet.
There you will find Him,
In the center of your soul.

Relish the moments,
Few though they be.
Seek His solace,
In your worldly day.

Together you will conquer
All that lies ahead.
The Lord your God, the Comforter
And His child resting his head.
